Step 4: Apply Aqua on the lower lash line and a bit of Vanilla on the inner corner of the eye. (You can stop here for a very effortless everyday eye. Step 3: Apply Deep Brown on the outer third of the eye and then blend it into the crease and a little bit onto the lid. Step 1: Apply an eyeshadow primer and apply Nude as a base shade from lashline to brow. Popped Neutrals – This is a great matte natural eye with a pop of fun aqua. I could have created endless really fun looks but I thought I would go for three very wearable, everyday looks. I created tutorials for three looks using this palette. If you have a very cool complexion than you may want to pass on this particular offering from Anastasia. Being that I have a very neutral leaning cool toned complexion and my eyes are blue I am able to pull it off. This palette is definitely geared more for those with warmer skin tones as most of the shades are very, very warm. The fact you get an assortment of everyday matte neutrals with the addition of some really fun shades like aqua, coral, and gold makes this palette very versatile. It’s worth owning just for the impeccable matte shades it includes. Priced at only $29 US I think this palette is a good value. These looks may be quite dramatic for some but even just by toning down the liner you can achieve a look that meets your comfort level. The palette also comes with 5 step by step Get The Look cards created by Maya Janeska. The shades blend nicely into one another but be careful not to over blend as there is a tendency for some of the shades to blend away if you work with them too much. The other shimmer shades can produce a bit of shimmer fallout as well. Glisten is a nicely pigmented creamy shade but can produces quite a bit of fallout so if you are going to make use of this shade in your look I recommend doing your eyes first. If you want a more vibrant hit of colour from Aqua and Fresh Peach then you can apply them wet. Aqua and Fresh Peach have a drier texture than the other shades in the palette and have a sheerer finish. Vanilla and Gold bar have decent pigmentation but can apply a touch unevenly. I love this kind of shade and I don’t feel we see it appear often enough in palettes. I absolutely love that they’ve included an almost black matte brown. Incredibly pigmented, velvety smooth, with a creamy feel. And b) I’m too lazy to wet my eyeshadows most of the time. a) Because these shadows perform beautifully without being wet. I used them dry for everything related to this post. There are 5 matte shades in the palette ( Nude, Deep Brown, Sienna, Warm Taupe, Caramel), 4 shimmer shades ( Vanilla, Aqua, Fresh Peach, Gold Bar), and one more metallic glittery shade ( Glisten). The inside of the palette features a good sized mirror on the inside of the lid, the 10 eyeshadow shades nestled in the cardboard palette, and a dual ended eyeshadow brush. The back of the palette contains the same ingredient listing as the back of the box. It has a shiny foil finish and features a variety of colourful prints for a really eye catching and fun look. The palette is made of sturdy cardboard and has a secure magnetic closure. On the back of the box you can see an image of the shades inside as well as detailed ingredient listings of all shades. The palette comes packaged in a box that looks the same as the palette inside. My Instagram feed has been flooded with exited posts about this new palette that was designed in collaboration with world famous blogger and makeup artist Maya Janeska and I am happy to be able to share my thoughts on it, as well as a few look tutorials to show you just how versatile this palette can be.
